-Hew..- Well, First you also have to have Pokémon Sapphire or Ruby as well. On Diamond and/or Pearl, you must first defeat the Elite Four and Champion in order to gain access to a place called 'Pal Park'. On Sapphire and/or Ruby, transfer the Pokémon you want to send to D/P into a box on the pc. Make sure both games are inserted in you Nintendo DS! Go onto D/P and south of.. I think south of the town where the prof.'s lab is, there should be a beach with a water route to a small island. Pal Park is there. Go into the building, chose which Pokémon you want to transfer, and you will be entered into Pal Park to catch your chosen Pokémon. Be warned that you cannot ever transfer them back to S/R though! And you cannot transfer Pokémon that know moves like 'Surf', 'Fly', 'Rock Smash' or other 'world' moves.
Also, welcome to PokéUmbra! If you need help with anything feel free to ask me! ^=^

Well in my odd ways. I think that that is not true... Not sure though. You could check out Serebii or Pokejungle or Pokesky. Otherwise I have no idea how to get in egg form. Or if you have R/S/E you can beat the E4 and get Pal Park. To transfer as Flare said. Welcome.

You breed them. I meant that. You can't actually find an egg. You just get one if you breed. :[
